Mt. Vernon #219
A.F. & A.M.

Welcome to Mount Vernon Lodge No. 219

In February 1960, a small group of 8 Master Masons met one evening in a local office at Bell Electric Company to discuss their dream of starting a new Masonic Lodge. Part of their dream was to have that Lodge located on or near the original land tract of Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home.  They rolled up their sleeves, got to work and six months later, Mount Vernon Lodge met for the first time under dispensation from the Grand Lodge of Virginia.  Twelve years later in 1972, the rest of the dream became a reality when the Lodge purchased Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Department’s building located on the original land tract of Mount Vernon and the members started converting it to what is now our Mount Vernon MasonicTemple.  Forty plus years of interesting family and community events and points in history have now gone by…and the officers and members of Mount Vernon Lodge No. 219 are still keeping the dream that started in that small office in 1960…alive…strong…and well!

Thank you for visiting.  We enjoyed having you in our Lodge and we hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again.
